Features
-
Single-element straight probe – a longitudinal-wave straight probe with a single piezoelectric element.
-
Direct contact inspection – designed for normal-incidence longitudinal wave testing by placing the probe directly on the workpiece surface. The contact face is typically made of hard, wear-resistant material with excellent acoustic impedance matching to metals, offering high sensitivity.
-
Soft-face option available – the contact face can be equipped with a soft membrane to improve coupling on rough surfaces. The membrane is replaceable, which extends the probe's service life.
Simple operation, high sensitivity, and strong penetrating power.
Applications
-
Primarily used for ultrasonic flaw detection of metal components with relatively simple structures, where defects are parallel or nearly parallel to the inspection surface.
-
Ultrasonic inspection of plates, forgings, castings, and billets.
-
Detection of delamination and layered structures.
-
Bonding/adhesive joint inspection.
-
Inspection of thick-section components or materials with high attenuation that are difficult to penetrate.
